This is a pre-IGCSE Geography Year 7 course. Modern Geography has come a long way from its historical roots in exploring foreign lands, and simply mapping and naming the regions of the world. Spanning both physical and human Geography, the discipline today is unique as a subject which can bridge the divide between the sciences and the humanities, and between the environment and our society. Year 8 Geography. This is a pre-IGCSE Geography Year 8 course and we do hope you will enjoy learning with us. Please refer to the SSD for course contents. The term geography was first coined by a Greek scholar Eratosthenes. The word geography carries basically two Greek terms i.e. ‘geo’ (meaning earth) and ‘graphos’ (meaning description), and the meaning of geography is ‘description of the earth. Geography is an interdisciplinary subject as well as it is a discipline of ‘spatial synthesis.’
Year 9 Geography. This is a pre-IGCSE Geography Year 9 course with plenty to be excited about! Geography is the study of the physical and cultural environments of the earth. What makes geography different from other disciplines is its focus on spatial inquiry and analysis. Geographers also try to look for connections between things such as patterns, movement and migration, trends, and so forth. Please refer to the SSD for course contents.
This course prepares students for the CAiE IGCSE examination in Geography (0460).
